19:30 – LeonardRegelkrone elected Speaker of the House of Commons
Following procedure while awaiting for the Lords for the gathering to hear the King’s Speech, the Commons has elected LeonardRegelkrone as the new Speaker of the House.
MRBUCEISMAY22 was duly elected Deputy Speaker shortly afterwards, with 23 MP votes.
20:00 – Members of the Commons head to the House of Lords following the Black Rod’s arrival.
20:10 – His Majesty King Louis opens Parliament with the King’s Speech
In the chamber of the House of Lords, His Majesty proclaims the King’s Speech, written by the Government outlining their pledges for the upcoming parliamentary term.

20:30 – Commons debate the King’s Speech
MPs return to the Commons chamber to discuss the King’s Speech.
Cabinet members respond to queries from the Opposition to explain and highlight key methods and action plans in place to effectively fulfil the proposals.
20:40 – Shadow Leader of the House comments on government plans
In further debate, the Shadow Leader of the House argues that there is “no excitement” what the government proposes despite primarily sharing that there are “long overdue changes” finally being made.
20:45 – Former Speaker & distinguished independent MP DeanRHeathcote speaks.
The former Speaker queried the Government on a “lack of specifics” with certain pledge points, whilst welcoming their proposals for Transport and London Buses.
20:55 – King’s Speech passes in Commons with a 24-11 vote margin
Success hail through government benches, as the House votes in favour of the King’s Speech with the vote margin being 24-11.
Now, the government can begin to start actioning some of the policies outlined in the King’s Speech.
The House was adjourned just before 9pm.
