leahvnx resigns as First Minister of Northern Ireland

The Northern Irish leader has resigned from her role, saying she no longer enjoys Northern Irish politics.

In a statement released late last night, the Leader of the Unity Party and First Minister of Northern Ireland, leahvnx, has announced her intentions to resign from both roles, exiting the Northern Irish political sphere.

Leah also said that the role became more of an obligation than something she “genuinely wanted to do”, even though she enjoyed the spotlight.

Although it may be the end of an era for her work in Stormont, the leahvnx has stated that she intends to remain working as the Member of Parliament for Northern Ireland, continuing her role as an independent member.

A look back over the First Ministers work

Leahvnx served as First Minister for 154 days, and Leader of the Unity Party for just under two weeks longer, totaling 167 days.

In her time as First Minister, leahvnx also secured 2,500 Robux of funding for Northern Ireland, the largest ever budget allocation to the region.

The outgoing First Minister said she has “made mistakes” during her time, but is “grateful for everything” the role has brought her.

The future of the Unity Party

The outgoing leader, leahvnx, has said she is “proud” to nominate former Chancellor Ognian0 to be the next leader.

In a post made on X, leahvnx said that he “understands [the Unity Party] cause” and represents the future of the Party.

While leahvnx will be departing the Unity Party in Northern Ireland, she says that she intends to continue to represent the Party in the Commons, as Regional Member for Northern Ireland.
