Earlier this evening, parliamentary candidate Moeez02 issued a statement claiming to be the first person to stand in the region in two years.
Speaking in his campaign message, Moeez02 said “we always have Greater London, Ireland, Wales etc [representation], what about East Anglia?”
BBC Verify can confirm that the claims made by the candidate are unfactual, as the East Anglia regional seat was last taken by MasonCathcart, The Lord Cathcart of Redbourn, in March of this year.
