Senior National Party members came together on Sunday evening in favour of removing the Party Leader, Kingmaster_I, after a “growing lack of confidence” since the general election in May.
Kingmaster_I took over leadership of the National Party after the Nationals lost in the May election, in which former leader TheRightHon resigned.
A motion for a vote of no confidence in the party leader was filed by the Deputy Leader, ZenoFrost_x, with considerable support by key party members, including the party’s Shadow Chancellor candidate, the Rt Hon. RebaAstor CVO; the Hon. H0RPH MP, the party’s Justice candidate; and the Hon. JacintaHastings MP.
In his initial statement on the motion against Kingmaster, ZenoFrost_x shared that “The party requires strong leadership, a clear vision and a credible electoral strategy to succeed”, where “unfortunately the current leadership has demonstrated absolutely none of these qualities, and has left the party ill-prepared for the challenges ahead”. He further added that the “party deserves a leader who can unite our members, inspire voters and carry our message to every corner of the nation.”
In an interview with the BBC in light of their no confidence motion, both ZenoFrost & RebaAstor shared their “dissatisfaction” with Kingmaster’s leadership, having made “none of the progress we urgently need heading into the next election”.
