At approximately 18:43 this evening, the First Minister of Northern Ireland, leahvnx, issued an energency directive.
Within this document, the Northern Irish politician has utilised the powers vested in her under the Government of Northern Ireland Act to suspend restrictions on PSNI firearms usage.
The directive will be in force from 0600 Friday 28th August to 0600 Monday 31st August.
Speaking to the BBC, the First Minister said that the move “protects law and order” and any law makers will be “dealt with”.
The civil unrest is expected to occur on Saturday evening, however caution should be exercised across the nation for the entirety of the weekend.
