Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Mr AdrianJWilliams, was formally dismissed from his responsibilities by the Prime Minister on Thursday night.
The PM announced his decision, assuring the British public of his commitment to maintain the “collective responsibility among our Ministers of the Crown”.
In a public statement, he shared that “following the disclosure of certain evidence to me implicating Mr Williams in the disclosure of confidential government information, I have been left with no decision to take but this”.
Chancellor of the Exchequer ZCInvestor added to the PM’s comments in his Treasury Cabinet Report, sharing that:
“In regards to the issue regarding my former Chief Secretary of the Treasury, I will only say that the allegations of discontent are untrue. I maintain complete confidence in this government and of myself to perform these duties, and hopefully by announcing our next Chief Secretary by next week, we can continue to accomplish our comprehensive agenda for the rest of the term.”
This came as the outgoing Chief Secretary accused the Chancellor of lacking in his ability to fulfil his responsibilities, after a recent feud was discovered between the Chancellor and the Lord Croydon, MichaelMRothschild, who also resigned as Minister for Space.
The Prime Minister has confirmed a replacement for Chief Secretary will be announced “in due course”.
