The Foreign Secretary, AlfieAlFayeed has announced his resignation, after releasing a statement to the public late Saturday evening.
His decision to resign has come as he is “busy with life”, and intends to focus on “on my summer, a summer filled with travels, work and experience”.
During his statement, Alfie issued thanks to colleagues within the Foreign Office, including wrightsonophobia (Permanent Secretary), MarkSMartson (Second Perm Sec) & Edwin / fbileonjohn (UN Perm Representative) for their support, as well as the Cabinet Secretary.
As he steps away from the Foreign Office and public service, the outgoing Minister reflected on his achievements, commenting “I see a treaty with Italy and a track record of me defending British interests on all levels. I can imagine that very few Foreign Secretaries have enjoyed such a wonderful time and such interesting circumstances.”
Prime Minister BarendFrederickShaw sent his thanks to the departing Foreign Secretary, for “accomplishing a strategic and defensive treaty with Italy that ensures security in Europe, as well as standing up for British interests abroad and domestically. I wish him well in any future endeavors.”
The Prime Minister also confirmed that Alfie’s successor would be confirmed on Monday, alongside a new Minister for Emergency Services.
Despite stepping away from government responsibility, Alfie did affirm his “faith in this government and I know that it will continue to fulfil the pledges I worked on laid out in the King’s Speech.”
