The Chief of Defence Staff announced that the regiment would be returning to the Army. In a statement made along side the announcement he said the regiment will “increase ceremonial capabilities” and “strengthen the British Army’s armoured presence”
The regiment will go on to replace the Rifles Regiment which got commissioned in October 2025, the commandant of the Rifles, Lieutenant Colonel EdwardDalby will remain at the reigns and lead the Cavalry forwards.
