“On The Frontline” set to enter production following Metropolitan Police approval

The series will be the first ever produced by BBC iPlayer, exploring life on duty in the Metropolitan Police Service.

The Metropolitan Police Service and BBC iPlayer have reached an agreement to enter “On The Frontline”, a policing programme that profiles the work of the Metropolitan Police, into formal production.

Following the announcement, the BBC’s Chief Content Officer said:

“The curation of ‘On The Frontline’ is the next step within the BBC to really push the institution in the scene of innovation, and as its chief, I am thrilled to work alongside the Director-General and the Metropolitan Police to bring what happens in our most cherished public service to the forefront for the British public to witness and behold.”

The programme will provide viewers with unprecedented access to the people behind London’s police service, documenting not only the incidents they attend, but also the decisions, pressures and experiences that accompany the job.
