The Board of the Office for Communications have voted to approve a new initiative proposed by its Chairman.
The initiative, intending to “incentivise activity”, will be trialed at the end of the month, and will work by reducing the activity quota of the three most active media companies for the next month.
To qualify, a given company must complete at least two times the activity quota for their given licence.
Speaking to the BBC, Chairman MarcFremwell said:
“Ofcom has taken into consideration the activity drop from last month, and alongside this initiative I will be working with the new Chancellor to increase activity and interest in media.”
