Earlier this evening, it was announced that His Majesty the King has approved a life peerage for the former National Democrats Party Prime Minister.
In the letters patent, it was announced he would be permitted to use the title of Lord Vanderbilt of Ventnor.
The title makes use of the civil parish of Ventnor – a seaside resort town on the southeast coast of the Isle of Wight.
The Lord Vanderbilt of Ventnor served as Prime Minister for a period of four months, before stepping down as leader of the National Democrats Party at the end of August.
