In a statement, the outgoing chairman said the decision came after concluding that “the time for change has come” within the party.
“It has been 154 days since I took chairmanship over the Solidarity Party – 33% longer than the combined tenures of all my predecessors,” the statement said.
The chairman reflected on the condition of the party upon taking office, describing it as being left in a “state of ruin” and facing expectations of possible deregistration. However, the statement argued that the party had since achieved significant progress under the current leadership team.
“I’m very proud of what Mikkel, myself, and many others have accomplished during our time at the party,” the chairman said.
