Earl of Dorset Resigns as King’s Private Secretary

Buckingham Palace has announced that His Majesty the King has accepted the resignation of the Earl of Dorset from his role as Private Secretary to the Sovereign.

In a statement, the Palace said he had supported the King over many years, including during his time as Duke of Sussex and Prince of Wales, and most recently following his accession.

His departure marks the end of what was described as a “valued period of close personal service” to His Majesty.

No successor has yet been named. Palace officials said arrangements for a replacement would be announced “in due course”.
