Kingmaster has resigned from his role as UK Foreign Secretary, according to a statement issued on 24 April 2026.
In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Kingmaster said he could no longer balance the demands of the position with his personal life. He described his time in office as “a pleasure” but said it was the right moment to step aside to allow someone else to take over.
He strongly rejected any claims that he had been forced out, insisting his resignation was entirely his own decision. Kingmaster also stated that he did not want to hold back the work of the Foreign Office by remaining in the role without being fully committed.
During his tenure, he worked closely with senior officials, including Permanent Under-Secretary Wrightson, whom he thanked for his support and leadership.
Following his resignation, AdaptedFrost has now been officially confirmed as the new Foreign Secretary.
