The Director of Public Prosecutions has been issued with a formal censure.
Following an investigation of the Director of Public Prosecution BushBerry123’s conduct during a trial, the Bar Tribunal and Adjudication Service has concluded their investigation of the report.
The Tribunal decided that, under the Legal Services Act 2023, the Prosecutor’s conduct is deemed “inappropriate and in breach of the Standards for Law Practitioners.” Therefore, they issued the DPP with a formal censure, acting as their warning to not do anything similar again.
The report started after Criminal Court case CC-2025-029, titled R v. DanJWatson, took an unprofessional turn. The DPP allegedly “failed to provide timely responses to requests, made unnecessary comments” and “insulted the defence council”, according to the Tribunal’s final report on the investigation.
