Jobless78 was appointed this afternoon to lead the Crown Prosecution Service, after BushBerry123 resigned earlier this month.
The DPP is the most senior criminal prosecutor in England and Wales, and oversees the prosecution of criminal cases investigated by the police, advising on the legal framework for criminal justice.
The Attorney General, the Rt. Hon. TE4SP0N BEM KC MP, said: “jobless78 brings with him a wealth of relevant experience, and I have full confidence in his ability to carry out this role with the professionalism and integrity that Britain deserves.”
“I thank him [BushBerry123] sincerely for his dedication and service to the United Kingdom during his tenure, and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
Jobless78 has said: “I would like to thank the Attorney General for his faith placed in me to take up this post. I look forward to continuing the fantastic work the late DPP, BushBerry123, undertook in the spirit of modernising and improving the integrity of the organisation structurally and operationally.”
“The organisation’s priorities remain to reduce the current backlog of prosecutions found in the Courts and effectively coordinate with the Metropolitan Police in its role to investigate crimes and
collect evidence.”
“To honour the organisation’s commitment to modernisation, I will endeavour to conduct a review of current services and set out a report containing my findings in addition to actionable steps that can be implemented, as soon as reasonably practicable, to improve efficiency and productivity.”
