The Met Police launch an inquiry after a gruesome murder in a Cameron Estates apartment.

At approx. 17:50 today, the Criminal Investigations Command Forensics Services responded to a pager created by on-duty Metropolitan Police Service officers regarding a dead body that had been found in one of the Cameron Estates flats. After a swift response from Forensics Officers, the surrounding area was cordoned off appropriately and investigations begun to discover the true nature of the crime. Following a search of the apartment, a machete was found covered in blood next to the victim, who was lying in a pool of their own blood on the carpet floor. The victim was also covered in their own blood, with several stab wounds scattered across their torso, right leg and head.

The found evidence and samples of the victim’s blood was then taken to the Marsham Police Base for chemical analysis to find any other blood and fingerprints. This analysis led to the discovery of the murder suspect’s fingerprints on the large knife’s handle, leading to a BOLO being put out on the suspect for all officers on-duty to respond to. Shortly after the BOLO was released, a Met Operations 8 Constable discovered that the suspect was located in King’s Edward Square and was quickly apprehended to prevent any further harm to the public.
