The Commission will be chaired by DougDommadome, alongside Vice Chairman TheBritishUnion and six independent commissioners. Representatives from the Social Democrats, National Party and Unionist Party will also serve as partisan commissioners.
Among the nominations submitted to the Lords are JosephDLRichmond and FrancesACastle for the Social Democrats, MasonCathcart for the National Party, and Goalk33per28 for the Unionist Party.
The Commission also confirmed that no ministerial nominations had been submitted by the Prime Minister at the time of publication.
HOLAC said it had updated its rules for peerage nominations this parliament, stating candidates would be expected to demonstrate “integrity, openness, honesty and leadership”, alongside parliamentary experience and an understanding of constitutional frameworks.
